During 1966, Bud Bushnell established Genie Industries. At that time, he purchased the manufacturing rights to a material lift which functioned on compressed air. The name Genie originated from the "magic in the bottle" that was utilized to raise and lower the hoist. This device really impressed a lot of clients and hence, the name was born.
Genie has moved into many new markets, as the need for work platforms and lifts grew. Over time, as the requirements for new equipment to meet many applications grew, the company made itself known in many new markets. Like for instance, Genie went into manufacturing stick booms, telehandlers, light towers, man-lifts and articulated booms.
Because of the economic recession during the beginning of the 2000s, Genie decided to obtain a partner who held the same values. They partnered up along with Terex Corporation. This company has a history acquiring equipment manufacturers all over the globe who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold in 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
Because of the Genie name and its solid reputation in the workplace, it was decided to maintain the Genie brand as part of the Terex Aerial Work Platforms. This was only decided after the first few years following the sale. Hence, all Genie machinery continue to be marketed under the Genie brand name.
The company takes great pride in taking advice from and listening to their customers. Genie has always been continually dedicated to improving the efficiency and quality in addition to minimizing wastes. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company focuses on providing outstanding support. These are the very work disciplines that have made Genie a trusted brand over the past decades and continue to keep their reputation for quality and top-of-the-line machines.
Genie's Bi-Energy and DC equipment are emission-free, quiet machines capable of working in delicate work settings. Where the equipment must be driven significant distances, such as within industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the advantages of a 48V DC machinery along with the power of a diesel-powered generator.
Telescopic booms offer more horizontal reach, as opposed to any of the various aerial platforms. These machines are ideal for small areas or limited access areas in all kinds of environments. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been engineered to provide utmost productivity. These equipment provide the drive speed and supreme traction you need in order to travel around the work site and job area.
