To make every Hyster machine safer for the driver and the other work site staff, all Hyster forklifts could be equipped with many of the standard and optional features. These features comprise: audible devices, safety lights, operator restraint systems, and ergonomic operator compartments.



To be able to help alert other people of an approaching or nearby lift truck, visual safety devices such as strobe lights can help. There is a low-mounted strobe light that includes a shield to help avoid the light shining into the driver's eyes.



Audible warning devices such as reverse operation alarms, which sound automatically if the lift truck is backing-up, warn other individuals of the presence of a forklift in the area. A rear drive handle with horn allows the operator's hand to be secure when backing-up. The operator restraint systems help to keep the driver safe in case of a truck flip over. The restraint system functions by keeping the driver's torso and head in the cab of the truck that would help them to avoid serious injury. Hip Restraints and Anti-Cinch Seat Belt are basic features on all kinds of Yale/Hyster lift trucks. For older Hyster/Yale forklifts, safety restraint systems are available for installation on nearly all models.



Excellent ergonomics are available in the Hyster StanDrive E30-40HSD2 series forklifts. Available in 3,000 or 4,000 pound capacities, these lift trucks are versatile and strong, as well as ergonomically designed to improve productivity and enhance operator comfort. In order to increase driver visibility and comfort, the controls allow the operator to stand in side-stance or at 45 degrees.
