Boom lifts come in 2 general kinds, the articulated boom lift and straight boom lift. Both these models are normally hydraulically powered. Most commonly straight booms are the great alternative for jobs which require a high reach with no obstructions. In order to maintain stability whilst the boom lift is fully extended, several heavy-duty boom lifts come outfitted with outriggers. The outriggers provide the operator with some extra safety and confidence. Correct training is required prior to using boom lifts in order to ensure the operator, the jobsite and everyone working in the vicinity stays safe.
