Motorized Pallet Truck
The Walkie-Rider, Walkie or Rider is a Motorized Pallet Truck that is basically a motorized type of a pallet jack. They are available in both "Walkie" models as well as "Rider" versions.
The walkie model as the name implies, is made to enable the operator to walk alongside the machinery while they pick up and transport cargo. The operator stands on a small platform on the Rider model. The rider models are great for frequent transporting of cargo over extended distances in manufacturing operations and warehouses. They are extremely maneuverable and fast.
It is not recommended to lift and transport tall or unstable loads as there are no safety cages on these models. A rider can be the perfect answer if you are looking for an inexpensive way of moving cargo from one location to another. If though, you must transport heavy loads short distances, and prefer to utilize a more employee-friendly unit instead of a pallet jack, the walkie model can be the best choice.
Order Selector
An Order Selector also goes by the name of Order picker. This equipment is specifically designed for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks connected to a platform in the Man-up design. This platform elevates both the operator and the load in an effort to facilitate manual loading and unloading from racking areas.
Order Selectors are typically very narrow aisle vehicles which can operate in aisles of less than six feet. They are very useful pieces of machinery during physical inventories as well as in cycle counting situations. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, though models which range in the 20 to 30 foot range are much more popular.
