A forklift to be a successful model should be built strong to last the working conditions for numerous hours of use. It needs to be able to transport cargo effectively and quickly as well. The machine must also be comfortable and ergonomically correct for the operator.
Yale's powertrain is both rugged and dependable. The powertrain requires the power to constantly offer great strength through its computer-managed engine and transmission. It offers state-of-the-art clutch packs along with extremely tough shafts and robust gears. The transmission, engine, drive and steer axle are all isolated to decrease vibration and noise inside of the operator's compartment.
Mazda and GM Gas & LP Engines:
GM's gas engines and Mazda's LP engine utilize cast iron blocks to promote long life. These machines provide an electronically-controlled closed loop fuel system that requires minimum adjustment or repair. These engines also have hardened exhaust valve seats which minimize wear.
Cummins and Yanmar Diesel Engines:
Both the Cummins and Yanmar diesel engine provide a higher compression ratio leading to better torque. Remarkable fuel consumption is provided by efficient fuel systems.
Regular Electronic Powershift Transmission:
The electronic powershift transmission is standard on most equipment. It features gears which are 15% stronger and shafts that provide resistance when driving on rough environment. The durable clutch packs offer 3 times the life of previous packs. Lastly, there is electronic inching available which adjusts automatically so as to decrease maintenance requirements by compensating for brake wear.
Techtronix Transmission:
This transmission system utilizes a computer-controlled power reversal that extends tire life, minimizes shock loading and increases durability. Additionally, the auto deceleration feature reduces brake wear and brake pedal usage.
Drive Axle:
Engineered for added strength, the drive axle features its full floating, brake drum mounting axle shaft and the strong ring and pinion gears. This component also has optional oil cooled wet disc brakes that are practically maintenance free and completely sealed against contamination.
Steer Axle:
The Steer Axle features a "sandwich" design to protect the steer cylinder from debris and damage. It has fixed-length tie rods to add extra stability and durability. The tapered roller bearings help to resist front to back and side-to-side forces. Furthermore, cast ductile iron axle increases toughness and lessens wear.
As part of Yale's standard packages, they have included a lot of ergonomic features and safety features. These kinds of machinery will handle tough settings, while keeping the operator both comfortable and safe for the length of their shift.
