Seat Belts for Counterbalances
A forklift, also known as a counterbalance, carries loads as heavy as 30,000 pounds. Despite being big and sturdy, these industrial machinery still bear the potential chance of accident or crash. In order to be very safe, be sure to have operators wear the correct seat belt inside the forklift and check that up to standard safety features are also on board. We all know that seat belts can save lives in the event of an accident.
Three-Point Seat Belt
The kinds of seat belts that could extend both over the lap and across the upper body are the three-point seat belts. These belts offer an extra safety degree by protecting your body. They are available in both bucket-seat and bench-seat styles. The 3-point seat belts are offered in either non-retractable or retractable types.
Most modern motor vehicles on the market provide retractable seat belts. Although non-retractable types increase safety, retractable kinds offer a lot more comfort. It is not possible for a non-retractable seat belt to accidentally extend.
Lap belts
The kind of seat belt that only extends over the lower portion of the body is a two-point lap belt. The majority of lap belts are non-retractable and feature a push-button closure system. In order to secure the seat belt, just press on the belt button and the two sides would separate.
Circuit-closed seat belt
The circuit-closed seat belts are the type which force forklift operators to put on a seat belt. These seat belts have a micro-switch attached that sounds an alarm if an operator starts a vehicle and is unsecured by a seat belt. The circuit-closed seat belts are made in both retractable and non-retractable lap-band types.
