Genie Knuckle boom lifts are strong four wheel steering and four wheel drive capable equipment that allow work to be done efficiently, even when the terrain is rough. The ALC 1000 electronic controls are a menu-based system that enables the user to easily calibrate the machinery and its components. System diagnostics are offered in many languages. There are dual fuel options available on the Z-80/60 model. The optional Deutz diesel powered engine is turbocharged, but quiet. It allows for better performance at higher altitudes. Also, it carries more than enough torque for better terrain- and grade-ability.
The 4-wheel drive ability and full-time positive traction adds improved traction for tough terrain. The Z-135/70 just provides four-wheel steering. Optional features on this particular model include crab, coordinated, front wheel, and rear wheel steering to give the equipment extra agility. The full-time active oscillating axle helps enhance wheel contact on uneven ground. All of these features make Genie Knuckle Boom lifts smoother and easier to operate on irregular terrain.
Although these models are larger than other Genie engine-powered articulating Z-booms, they have features like continuous 360 degree turntable rotation and telescoping jibs to provide the user with incredible reach and range of motion. The Z-boom design gives the units exceptional over and up positioning capability that ranges from 8.83 meters on the Z-80/60 model to 23.01 meters on the Z-135/70 unit. The XChassis expanding axle is an ingeniously designed device utilized for both retracting and extending axles in and out of stowed position. The width of the Z-135/70 unit machine is only 2.46 meters if the axle is stowed. The Z-80/60 has fixed width axles for easier transport.
